About WINNET Europe
WINNET Europe, the European Association of Women Resource Centres, is an umbrella organization for Women Resource Centres (WRCs). Winnet Europe was established in 2006 by local, regional and national Women Resource Centres.
Women Resource Centres are organizations that serve as key tools for women’s active participation in regional development and growth, cross border cooperation, innovation and entrepreneurship as well as in building sustainable and gender equal regions in the European Union.
Winnet Europe’s mission is to ensure the implementation of gender equality and women’s participation on a local, regional and national level. This is achieved by lobbying for:
• Strengthening the role of Women Resource Centres (WRCs) as key actors of regional growth
• Cooperation in Quadruple Helix partnerships with a multigovernance perspective
• The implementation of the European Union’s Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025
• Securing a gender equality perspective in European funds; national and regional resources
• Our active involvement in policy making processes and by communicating women’s skills in EU Member States and the candidate countries
• Increasing women’s influence and participation in the labour market and society as a whole, on a European, national and regional level
• Creation of new and permanent jobs for women by supporting women’s innovation and entrepreneurship
• Economic empowerment of women
• Enhancing women’s use of ICT and their active participation in the digital society at all levels
